Inky, violet color. Deeply pitched cherry, cassis, licorice and incense aromas are complemented by vanilla, cola and woodsmoke flourishes. Shows impressive depth as well as energy to its densely packed black and blue fruit, candied violet, mocha and vanilla pastry qualities and a spicy nuance builds with aeration. Supple and appealingly sweet on the strikingly long, sappy finish, which features harmonious tannins and echoing vanilla and spice notes. Aged in 52% new French oak. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2021)

Menthol, eucalyptus, black cassis, dark cherries, blueberries, black raspberries and dark florals on the nose. Palate of; warm black plums, blackberries, black currant, dark cherries, black licorice, mint, eucalyptus, softer tannins, black cherry cola, light soft loamy soil & clay. This finish is long with medium tannins, ripe fruit s and beautiful acidity. Photo of their tasting bar and another that shows while they do some whole cluster fermentation they largely de-stem. From 70 year old vines.

Great wine. Great story. This is what the #barossa is about. Can be put away for years.

Text book New World Aussie Shiraz. Still big & bold with dark fruit but not over the top. Group's consensus favourite at dinner party.

Now this is a beautiful Barossa Shiraz. Old vine 100+ years. Fruit, spice, great balance. A great reintroduction to what the Barossa is really all about.

Decantered for 2 hours, low tanins, not too acidic. Big, bold, smooth.
