Montecitorio Derthona Colli Tortonesi Timorasso

A wine that will divide the crowd
Valter Massa is the king of the timorasso
He has made the history for this grape variety and i was very curious to taste this new( to me) label
Wine needed a little warm up after coming out from the fridge before expressing all its complexity, even the fruit you couldn't taste when too cold
Colour is golden although had no oak ageing
Eventually we find peach and papaya very pronounced(perhaps mango?), but not overripen
Flinty, very mineral, a bit gingery, white pepper, coriander seeds and marvellous length
It might be seeming not too dry for someone, but to me it found a balance and i enjoyed it a lot
Very unusual, you have to be curious

Pretty wine with richness balanced by minerality and acid. Some oak comes through but subtly so, carried in on a pillowy cloud of lemon custard.

Timarosso and "cheese aged in sack of a goat" I'm coming back never #sorrynotsorry #acidforages

Best white in quite a while. Fantastic.

Just starting to come into form. Lighter than expected, but such classic Massa. Less petrol than I expected based on what Massa's bianco wines tend to do with age.

Nice elegant and smoky, little touch of petrol. Ripe and round taste, slightly sweet..😁

I love this grape, territory and wine!!

Timorasso

Wow! Deeply mineral with just a hint of tropical fruits. It recalls a Mosel Riesling but rounder in the mouth... Incredible smoked long lasting flavor for a white that known only steel and bottle...

#17/20 (92/100) Красивый аромат с нотами мёда, прополиса, пчелиного воска, цукаты из ананаса и дыни, апельсиновой корки. Умеренная тельность, довольно высокая кислотность. Апельсиновые цукаты и базилик во вкусе. Солоноватое. Шикарно!
