Domaine des Tourettes Hermitage Syrah

Ruby with pronounced aromas of ripe dark fruits and spices. On the palate flavors of black cherry and plum with leather, spice and herb notes. Fine tight tannins, hints of oak on medium+ finish ending with fruit, herb and mineral tones. Nice!

Ordered off the Sazon list in Santa Fe. Deep rich color with a warm inviting nose. Silky and smooth. Notes of sweet fruit, slate stone, some menthol. Good acidity and structure, but the fruit is what’s notable tonight. Great juice.

Evolution in a bottle right here. Over about 2 hours in a decanter. Just fantastic and perfect partner to a great dinner.

Tad astringent but still that smoky Syrah and toasted spices...

Dark cherry, plum and black tea. A bit rustic and unpolished in its acid.

A bit of pleasant funk on the nose, along with black olive and dried flowers. Cranberry, plum, almonds, more olives, orange zest. Finishes with savory herbs, a nice grip, and enough acidity to instantly want another taste.

Josh Reynolds nailed this. This has turned the corner. Soft, round and approachable. Lovely raspberry jam notes with sage and neutral oak treatment. Superb showing, but still young. Presents just how I like my Rhône’s. Leave this another 2 - 3 years.
