A pleasant, if slightly underwhelming Crozes.

Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark berry fruit and floral spice. On the palate juicy jammy flavors of black plum and blackberry fruit, vanilla, earthy pepper and black olive notes, vivid acidity, good balance. Firm tannins, long finish ending with spicy fruit character. Drink now and over next 5 years. Good value.

OMG the nose is like going into a butcher’s shop or a charcuterie specialist: deep meaty, spicy, attic-dust (sure there’s some fruit and flowers in there, in the back room); taste is med. in acids, med+ tannin, balanced and long. This is the best bottle (375ml actually) of this producer I’ve yet had and will go get more pronto.

A little flabby - surprising in N Rhône/ could use more acid. Beyond that, beautiful aromatics - dark cherry, violets, blackberry, hint of roast beef on the nose. Fruit goes to the palate along with graphite, and something oddly like lime peel. This vintage is not quite as “Northern Rhône-y” as I’d like.

Ass-kicking. White pepper crusted juicy red berries. Smoke on the water, fire in the sky. Get. It.

I’m a big Crozes Hermitage fan. Found the 2018 Les Launes on sale for 17.99 at BevMo’s. Went back the next day to buy more. Exquisitely balanced with enough personality to hold up to food. Very much impressed.

Good mid week guzzler- lavender, blueberry, blackberry, amaro with a slight earthiness to it. Medium bodied palate makes way for a more red fruited spectrum that delivers well on the finish

Cherries, vanillia and tobacco! A classy and elegant well balanced wine. French kisses from Rhône. xoxo

Subtle is the name for Crozes-Hermitage. Medium body, medium tannin, generous acid and a palate that presents itself almost sequentially. There is freshness to the fruit, particularly the blueberry and currant, displaying over a layer of gravel and a touch of barnyard funk. Think opposite a Chuck Smith Syrah, but on the edge of becoming hollow. Drink now through 2020.
