Pretty much fulfilled my fantasy of a 500$ piece of art. Wine was so balanced and full of layers with a 4 min finish that I will never forget.

I need more of this in my life. Beautiful. This was a wine that I could just sit with for a long time. So much depth and complexity. So well balanced. First Saturday gathering.

2007 Vintage. 15.5% Alcohol. Estate Syrah from Eleven Confessions vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills. Now at it’s peak and unfortunately our last bottle. Belated Gail’s birthday SQN as most of our “liquid assets” were at the WineBank that was closed except for emergencies and acceptance of shipments during our shelter-in-place. Now allowing appointments to put away our spring shipments from Top, Fulldraw, Aaron, Benom, and more. Massive liquid raspberry and red fruits on the nose and palate with a finish lasting 5 minutes. Amazing wine and definitely birthday quality.

Fantastic evening full of SQN. I could drink this Syrah all day every day. Bottle 7/9 of the evening. Credit: Ralphie

Inky and thick in the glass, pure velvet on the tongue, berry muffins and wintergreen on the nose. The weight of the wine is masterfully offset by the undercurrent of acidity and the tannins literally melt through the finish. As mysterious and intense as the bottle it comes from.

Even after decanting and letting this sit for almost 2 hours, I still feel like I'm committing infaticide. In reality, I suspect this is transitioning, as some of the primary components are getting muted by the emergence of secondary flavors. But then again, who are we kidding? Layers of aromatics, impeccable balance, and a 60+ second finish, this is awesome juice!
