Really enjoyed the cdp and it went nicely with the lamb lollipops.

Wow. Just a stunning wine. Begins as a ripe fruit forward wine with a beautiful vanilla, sweet corn on the cob finish. gradually transforms into a wine indicative of Lirac. Strong wet rock, monstrous spice, dirt and earth and mushroom and garrigue. A beautiful example of aged wine's potential.

The nose is all about smoke and meat and BBQ kettle chips. In the mouth you get into pepper and sour cherry and pomegranate. Love this.

Fully mature delicious CDP, warm perfumed and feminine with a lot of structure and tannic backbone.

Like chocolate that's been in your grandmas leather purse on a cool fall day when you're hungry but don't know what you want to eat. #somm

Either give me more wine, or leave me alone.

Sorry Chataneuf du Pape, I still can't get into Grenache-based wines.

Deep fruit verging on sweet not my thing.

Power and delicacy at the same time ?

Great evolution as a classic CdP over the course of several hours. From dry, tannic and musky at the open to minerals and beef later and more and more super ripe, jammy fruit emerging toward the end. The tannins were firm but fair and the acid still sharp, making me think there was still room for development even after 20 years.
