Fabulously savory with animale, bay leaf and high tones red fruits. Tons of lift. Grippy. Excellent and old school

Some initial cellar funk on the nose that blew off and then this continued to reveal more and more fruit over the next couple hours. That last glass finally revealing the potential and showing that this will still improve with a few more years in bottle.

Decant and wait. This did not recover. Top notes of Brett and VA made it a sink cleaner.

Still has some wood to digest, but pretty balance between ripeness, earth, and garrigue. Would prefer less cooperage, but quite good with grilled lamb and the summer version of the polar vortex. Rebuy.

Red fruit, earthy, leafy. Very pretty and it’s held up commendably over time. Delicate and traditional side of CDP. Tannins are still a bit underripe.

I was a little sceptical before opening the bottle - 2003 hmmmm! Big surprise - it wasn’t too old - it was smoky, leather, olive and mushrooms - still some tannins - no trace of the cabbage some old ch9 develop with age.

Whoa. Refined with dark fruit flavors, animale with dried herbs and floral notes. And just enough brett keep it pleasantly rustic. Fun wine.

But give me a good cellar and I'll see you in 10 years.

Spicy cedar leather and barnyard with nice acid and dried fruit. A bit bretty but well within tolerance.
