Tuesday night into our third week of seclusion. Trying to make the best of s bad situation and be positive about the situation we have been dealt. I have opened the 2012 L'Ecole No.41 Columbia Valley Chenin Blanc made from old vines.

On the nose the is yellow apple, bruised apple, marzipan, ginger, honeysuckle, saffron, and a little brioche.

The palate reveals honeydew melon, asian pear, mango, ripe lime, bruised apple and a good minerality.

This wine is medium bodied showing a little age still with good medium + acidity that goes right into a medium to long ripe fruit mineral laden finish. Let's all try and make the best of a bad situation and be nice to each other. Please stay safe and the best of health to each of you. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

This runs sweeter than I'd personally like in a Chenin, but that's perhaps my issue. Heaps of tropical fruits on the nose, but the finish, again, could benefit from a sharper acidic note.

Tonight's wine is from Washington State the 2011 L'Ecole No.41 Colombia Valley Chenin Blanc.

This wine is done in the Vouvray Demi-Sec style and done well, a very drinkable wine.

The nose is very beautiful and full with nice fruit, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, peach skin, mango and good mineral wet river rock.

On the palate there is mandarin orange, tangerine, apricots, baked apple, mango, lemon curd with a bit of sweetness which a good Demi-sec wine normally has.

This wine has a bit of a viscous mouth feel with Medium + acidity and a nice long finish with that lingering fresh acidity.

Okay. Simple and drinkable. Could easily be mistaken for a typical oaked California Chardonnay.

Lemon and lime skin aromas and some floral/herbal (anise??) notes, a big round body with lots of acidity and lingering minerality.

Fresh but mellow chenin blanc. Beautiful golden straw color. Peach, vanilla, and citrus notes. Delicious!
