The nose on this was incredible from the start - cassis, baking spices, and chocolate- exactly what I was craving tonight. But the wine really needed a lot of time to open up. Luckily, it's a Friday night and I've got nowhere to be! An hour and a half after decanting, the Cab Franc that had been very pronounced upon opening the bottle had mellowed and integrated nicely with the rest of the blend.

V12. Very nice. Smoked meat nose. Juicy black currant and blackberry fruit. Smooth, round black pepper, clove and mocha finish. Well balanced. Good food wine.
