A bird incorporated on the label, and the name Chanteleuserie means a 'place where the larks sing', located outside of the village of Benais, in Touraine, Loire Valley. Deep purple pronounced aromas of floral and black fruits. On the palate blackberry and blueberry flavors with bell pepper and tomato leaf notes. Medium+ grippy tannins with vivid acidity on a medium length finish. Great value, can even improve in bottle in next few years.

So deep and rich. Transcendental! A 2005.

Fun and bright. No green notes on the palate which were mildly noted on the nose.

Blackberry, red and black cherry, with green bell pepper note, hint of licorice and juniper berry, freshly ground pepper and savory note. Med body, med plus acidity. Beautiful summer red!

Still drinking well, big acidity up front. Fruit slightly faded and green notes are minimal. Paired well with rabbit confit with grits

Well, why not...since the WSJ seems to have discovered Loire CF I thought digging in the cellar for this perfect mid-week tipple. Imported by Kermie Lynch in Bizerkley CA. Plenty of cellaring to go if you like more evolution. Still primary in flavor and aroma.
