Solid value for vineyard-designated Mosel kabinett Riesling, less than $15 post-tax. A bit on the sweet side for my preference for kabinetts but still representative of the region and variety; certainly tastes like a Bernkastler Badstube kabinett should, if possibly being a bit basic of an example compared to those from the many classic Mosel producers that make wines from this site. A good companion to a nice cheese plate. Ripe Granny Smith apple, canned peaches, wet slate minerality, a bit of pool toy/petrol-y action, and some subtle cherry blossom showing pretty congruently on both the nose and palate. Acid is medium (+) and I'm seeking a little more, that's what's keeping this wine from really popping the way I want it to. Light bodied but a nice round texture from the RS. Not too shabby!

Aromas of apples, peaches, and Mosel slate with hints of citrus.

If you doubt that a wine can smell like a plastic pool toy...you need to smell this wine's nose. White flowers, tree fruit, and honey fill in the rest of the aromas. The honey continues onto the palate, followed quickly by pear and a bolt of lemon acidity. The sugar and acidity are in perfect balance.

A bit round and creamy, but still fresh.

Clear deep straw yellow, subtle fruit aromas. Palate shows orange citrus and tropical fruit flavors, off-dry style. The wine shows lively acidity, touch of spice with a semi-dry sweetness. Nice food friendly wine. Tasting Sample.

White peach, honeysuckle, and bosc pear with just a slight whiff of slate.. juicy and sweeter than expected for a kabinett.. lacking acidity. I prefer the graacher himmelreich from this producer for a similar price point.

On the nose, lime, citrus and tangerine.

Off dry on the palate with high acidity and citrus lemon, orange and tropical fruits.

Medium-bodied and balanced.

Long ,fruity finish with honey.

A very nice Kabinett Riesling. Will buy again.
