An underrated wine for the money. Best Chianti outside of the Classico zone?

Popped and poured. Wine appears bright ruby color with a transparent core and a slightly watery rim; medium viscosity. On the nose, medium+ intensity…bursting with bright cherry and raspberry fruit, licorice, dusty gravel, and spices. On the pallet, the wine has tremendous sweet ripe fruit confirming the cherry and raspberry. The wine is truly fresh. Tremendous texture. Finish is long. Medium tannin; medium+ acid. This is a lovely wine and a significant step up from the non-Riserva bottling. Likely the best from Chianti Rufina that I can ever recall having. “Bucerchiale” is only produced when the vintage warrants.

And this...is a wine that MUST be decanted. #decantthis I finally opened it and 48 hours later it is twice as expressive and balanced and smooth. #chianti #chiantiriserva #italy

Still alive! Baked red fruits, light cedar and tomato leaf notes, touches of leather and soil, terra cotta. Great acid still and grip... drinking well!

Movie night wine. Savory, loaded with dried fruits and tobacco. Round and easing into its age beautifully. Texturally full and a great match with the 3x meatball recipes we tried against it.

Rich & broad but balanced by savory earth & Rufina acidity. Totally satisfying at this young stage if its life.
