This is a beautiful Brunello from Tuscany.

Dry on the palate with medium acidity.

Showing red and black fruits with tobacco, light oak, herbs, light vegetables, peppercorn, wet leaves, chocolates, dark coffee and graphite.

Long finish with fine grain tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 27 year old is showing nice complexity at this point. Still has a lot in it, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Needs 2 hours in the decanter to open up properly, be patient, you'll thank me later.

Wine Enthusiasts 92 points. Wine Spectator 91 points.

Delicious and complex. Good by itself or with food. A great sipping wine.

Aged for 2 years in oak barrels.

13% alcohol by volume.

94 points.

$160.

Elegant Banfi in a hot and dry year, high alcohol but not overbearing. Plenty of red fruit but missing the structure of a 2015/26. Good pasta wine to drink now.

Chewy tannins and bright, tart cherry/raspberry. Under ripened strawberry on the nose, could use some age but was great with dinner.

Main reason I ordered it was the other options were worse, and years ago I stayed in the Banfi castle pictured on the label (amazing). But this bottle was disappointing.

Bottle age was kind to this basic Banfi BdM. Brambly, dark flowers, pipe tobacco. Rich and almost creamy sour cherry on a beautiful backbone of oak tannins, sweet fig paste and leathery earth.

Dark ruby in color with a wide brick rim.

Strong nose of black plums, cherries, cloves, light vegetables, oak, light tar, dark chocolates, coffee, earth, leather, light vanilla, light vegetables, wood and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, sweet raspberries, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, vegetables, wood, light cloves and tar.

Medium on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This Italian Brunello is drinking very nicely now.

Well balanced with a great mouthfeel and nice complexity. This 12 year old is peaking now.

Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show the complexity. Do take your time with it, as it is well worth it.

A very nice wine to sip on, and share with friends and talk about. Good with food as well. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses, and light appetizers.

Really solid. Dark berry, sage and smoky aromas. Gorgeously balanced and lingering on the palate. Long finish without being tannic. Lovely!

Complex. Mid- intensity of brick color. Chocolate, prune and cherry, forest tree and spice, touch of young blood, mint. Dry, mid+ dense acidity, vervety texture. Quite impressive victorious BdM.
