#AgedWineTuesday

Deep in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing much age.

Medium plus in body with nice complexity.

A little harsh on the palate with medium acidity.

Showing red and black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco, coffee, cola, licorice and peppercorn.

Short finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 27 year old Napa Cabernet is still drinking very nicely, although not at its best. A little unbalanced, but drinkable nonetheless. Really liked the tannins here.

Needed some time to open up, and show structure and tannins, but good right out of the bottle as well.

Wine Enthusiasts 91 points. Wine Spectator 92 points.

Always nice to drink this kind of wines.

A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 22 months in (53% new) oak barrels.

13.6% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$150.

1997 drinking amazing! Absolutely Awesome tannin integrated, the fruit was still bold. It was in pristine condition.

Way better than I expected. Firm tannins and wonderful fruit. Buried treasure. Voted most surprising wine of the night

Still fruit on nose. Soft tannins and chalky finish. Could be past its prime.

2001 Silverado Limited Reserve Cabernet. Haven't had this wine in 5+ years.

Decanted it for 30 minutes just to get some air to it. Not much on the nose. The front of the palate has dissipated somewhat. Big ripened plum on the middle of the palate. It finishes off, softened chocolate, cedar. The sweet tannins & acidity are light. Smooth & elegant cab that has a few good years . Recap... drinking extraordinarily well after three hours plus, 92 pts now
