Final bottle of 2004 Normale. A pleasure to drink now with rich, sweet fruit, soft tannins, and fresh, appetizing acidity to bring all into balance and extend the finish. Lorenzo Magnelli’s Father vinified the 2004 as Lorenzo’s first vintage in charge was 2006. Looking forward to drinking bottles of the 2004 Riserva in the coming years.

My own Barolo vs. Brunello,2013, half bottle, same price, challenge: the Barolo was ethereal... light but fragrant. Roses. Olives. Drinking beautifully now but of course it should go longer. The brunello was cherry, earthy, medium tannins, tighter... but also showing well at an early age. I'm buying another of the Barolo.

2007 ...a warm but very good vintage. Clear with vibrant colour diminishing on the edges Fruit is voluptuous but slightly ripe. Tanins and acididity are well balanced Medium finish

Blackberries, black plum, dark cherries, black licorice, dark earth, medium hard minerals, finishes very dry and a touch rough. This is the Riserva. Difficult wines to drink young due to its tannic structure and strong minerality. These wines need 8-10 years in bottle to soften and really start to hit their stride.
