A tasting note for Donkey & Goat Dommen Vineyard Pinot Meunier - Russian River (cause no such entry exists so far) 2021. SO2 33ppm. Tasted at WINeFare @SF early June 2022. Red and purple flowers, crushed stones, high acidity.

Don't be fooled by the delicate and quiet nose. There's energy inside, transparent with crisp acidity and a lovely firmness. Delicious!

Nervy, fun wine. The Warby Parker wearing, Portlandia watching Pinot of Anderson Valley.

Young yet, and still showing more of D&G house style than its own idiosyncrasies. Tasty, but should prove more interesting down the road.

A very pretty and elegant style of pinot noir. Bright fruit and acid, silky texture.

From the winery: "The ranch affectionately called Helluva (beacuase it is a helluva ranch!) is just northwest of Boonville and produces a light bodied and nervy Pinot that illustrates the varietals [sic] potential when grown in cooler climates and picked for balance. Our Pinot would NEVER be mistaken for our Syrah, and that is how it should be!"

Leads with mineral, blood orange and bright red fruit. Has a sneaky, savory undertone that fills in the gaps between bites of dinner. The prefect wine for a nice meal when you want to focus on the company, and that's a high compliment.
