The 2016 Pecorino is wonderfully fresh but also a bit withdrawn. Gingery spice, ripe yellow apples, hints of candied citrus and an enriching note of almond paste creates an alluring display. This is silky in texture, contrasted by nervous acidity which makes for a juicy experience, as ripe orchard fruits taper off to salty, savory mineral tones. The 2015 Pecorino from Emidio Pepe is delicious, herbal and white fruit with minerality that expresses itself on the long finish. That salinity reminded me of Pecorino, the cheese, appropriately enough!!

A terrific wine to celebrate our anniversary. Opened nicely with some air. Some slight oxidative notes and slight reduction initially but mostly passes. Very complex, minerals apple, savory herb notes. Ah just good stuff.

Really interesting, only the 2nd Pecorino I've had, this one blows it away though, it was open in the fridge for a week & only got better.
