I feel bamboozled. I might have liked this wine just fine had the guy at the wine store not described it like a "big, dirty, Italian Zinfandel." This was nothing like a big Zin. It was fine. Just not at all what I was expecting. :/

Very different, almost fig newton-esque, with some tar.. The palate is smooth with overripe cherry and some earth.

3009 Foja Tonda is a very rare grape saved from oblivion by Albino Armani 25 years ago. Full body and taste, still in search of elegance, but aging time will help. Red fruits taste and long finish are a good plus. Very good.

Smooth and rich, medium body.
Walking into a ritz with your crushed velvet jacket, held in one hand over the shoulder. Nice and swank. That's what this wine is.
