Fine Rich Madeira Red Blend

Great introductory example for those who have never had Madeira before, and a nice everyday drinker for those that are already fans. Brown in color, medium bodied and smooth mouthfeel. Aromas and flavors of hazelnuts, raisins, dried apricots and chocolate. Its sweetness is balanced with salivating acidity, and it finishes with raisins, caramel and coffee.

Pale tawny in color; burnt caramel, walnut oil, and over ripe peach on the nose; high acidity; low tannins; tastes like molasses, hazelnut, and burnt sugar. High in alcohol. Not a bad dessert wine.

Note this is the fine rich red not white! Need to spend more time with Madeira...port often too cloying...and great value. Goes very nicely with the strawberry tart in the background :)

Smells a lot like sherry but very different Finnish . Nice...

Oak and floral smell. Has a sweet chocolatey texture with an almost Jack Daniels Whisky after taste.

Orange peel. Almonds. A touch of bitter at the end washes away the sugar. Not the best Madeira, but still fun.

Decent. More like a port than madera. $15.
