This is a well made example of a pretty funky grape. You can perceive its parentage in the glass with a bright medium ruby color and high acidity inherited from Pinot Noir and then smell the earth aromas of the cinsault with which the pinot was crossed. The resultant pinotage adds a medicinal and gamey note that isn't necessarily unpleasant, just a bit awkward. This wine is a good evocation of pinotage, so if you like the grape this is a good value

My wine seller said this is a very devisive wine. The haters say it's like licking asphalt. I get that urban grime earthy, but also mellow fruit.

Light but flavorful. Will buy again. Tasted better than the price.
