Dark, brooding and rich. No jammy fruit here, but ample blueberry, violet, menthol and camphor. Texture is very attractive.

In my class called Syrah, Mourvèdre. Had nice elegant blueberry on the nose, along with overripe Washington Apple skin, charred green pepper, "corn" -- a friend called.

Tremendous aromatic action - eucalyptus, pepper floating on a deep pool of black fruit. Palate less interesting at the moment...

A Michel chapoutier wine imported direct by country vintners. A cool climate Syrah from Australia.

$15 closeout & feels like theft! Inky massive, voluptuous wafting tons of dense black fruit, brooding, white pepper, game, bit feral, had a bit more nuance than many garden variety Shiraz. Very broad across the middle, generous ripe black fruit & pepper, decent balance, little clumsy & provincial, but definitely enjoyable.

Rich dark berry colour. Bitter taste leaving a metallic palate after. I left overnight and found that the following day this wine had improved dramatically. Taste was now mellow and present with no lingering after taste. NOTE Kerr the wine breath and it becomes lovely taking it to an 8

This is drinking extremely well now. Very nice nose of berries and some hints of tobacco. Mouth watering juicy palette of cherries, spices and uplifting acidity. Good structure with long aftertaste and playful tannins.

This was the right wine at the right time. I’d previously given up on it and hadn’t had it for some years. But today it shined brightly. Delicate in a iron glove fashion.

Needs a bit of air to open up. Still young, fresh and vibrant. Perfumed nose of fruits and a tiniest bit of game blood. Fruit and minerals on the palette with refreshing acidity and soft grained tannins. This performs better than I anticipated. Good QPR!
