Ruby with aromas of black fruits and sweet floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and cherry with herb spice, licorice and black pepper. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, espresso, smoky spice and mineral character.

From mag. A little pork ‘n pinot, unbeatable combo. A little early on this one but very enjoyable with food for its dense, dark, structured, earthy sensibility and fine grained elegance

Ruby red in color, slight oak with spice and sweet bakkng spices. Tannic, much more than its southeast counterparts of Volnay, but great acidity and structure. Paired very well with Beef…

Tough vintage, beautiful wine. Garnet, starting to brick at the edges. Opened up nicely after 90 minutes. The aromas tell the whole story. Strawberries and assorted other lil red forest fruits, loamy earth, dried leaves. Some stemmy astringency on the finish that calls out for food. Which, time to eat

Nice perfume nose dominated by strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, hawthorn, cranberry and dried date. Forest floor and dried herbs hide behind the fruit. Moderate tannin and moderate plus acidity. Slight green on the finish. Very nice!

Roasted fruits, game, meat juices. 2009 hot-vintage character, but not baked, raisined or overdone. Actually quite fresh, with lots of life left in it. One of the best wines of the vintage, from a first-rate domaine.

A fantastic value at $46.50 a bottle. Opened at 3:00 and by 5:30 was presenting beautifully. Coates gives the producer two stars (only 29 two-stars in all of the Côte d'Or — only 17 three-star). Grand Cru level 1er Cru. 2007 was not a great year — this wine is an exception.
