Trappistes Rochefort 6 Belgian (Dubbel) Ale

Avocado seed brown, roiling body with cream snow drifts, and woodcut tsunami wave lacings that vanish to swishes. Dried vines, roasted hazelnut, light but raw cane sugar, cinnamon toast, Swedish licorice with salt, dark applesauce, and a pleasant, funkiness from an earthbound tuber; rutabaga? Heavenly mouthfeel! Near perfect! What texture. A revelatory experience. Clearly enlightened monks inspired by the divine. Tea biscuit, toast, dark almond, balanced malt, cocoa nibs, marbled rye, nutmeg and a shimmery minerality that vibrates like wound brass across the tastebuds. Coffee and tea in silver rounds out your breakfast fare.

Tastes similar to an oatmeal cookie. Some caramel notes too. Rich! Wish I had a cookie just now.

Cloudy reddish amber color, not much nose but a lovely caramel & rich dark fruit taste.

Interesting sweet aftertaste

Excellent bit prefer the 10. Smooth, balanced. Almond notes.

Medium body, medium dark, medium malt, light yeast, light hop - perfect balance

Best so far.

Not my preference in terms of sweetness, but controlling for that it's a damn good brew. Smells like dates.

Youngest of 3 Brothers (8&10) shows nicely with a straightforward brown ale with just that bit of Monk Magic
