At last! A great bottle of recent Leflaive. A real stunner. Rich and powerful. Sweetness, white flowers, a touch of honey, minerality, chalk, a whiff of mint. Fresh yet powerful and intense. A great bottle. Wow

Tasted blind. Medium gold color, heavy in the glass. Tropical nose. Notes of lemon creme, nutmeg, vanilla, almond paste, tan spice. Rich in the mouth, with a finish that packs a wallop. I start with thinking this is 92 Leflaive, but the acidity and structure in the finish pushed me to guess 93 Carillon BBM as the bottle. Over the night this got better and better, a full 7 hours after open/decant. As good as white burgundy gets. Thks Stan!

Tasted blind. Light gold color, a little lighter than the BBM next to it. Similar nose. Notes of citrus, petrol, wood, tan spice, some apricot and some white flowers. Massive richness in the mouth. Glycerol. More power and a little less acidity than the BBM, but over the night this ran ahead of it's peer. Guessed 99 Leflaive BBM. 97+

Spectacular showing, white flowers, honeysuckle and apple on a killer nose leading a rich but somehow light and delicate Batard. Hazelnuts, light feathers of tropical fruit. Wow.

Exceptional. Length, power, toasted almond stone fruit brioche lemon curd. Could have passed for ten years younger.

Tasted blind. Medium gold. Rich, “wow” nose... has a noticeable power that is a step above the other whites tonight. Lots of lemon and citrus, some gravel stone and dirt, tan spice, white acacia flowers. Later some creme brûlée thing pops in. The experience goes on and on for hours. Has an amazing level of balance... fruit, richness, complexity and structure. Again shows us this is an all time white. We all nailed our guess on this beauty by the process of deduction and the obvious quality of this amazing, in great condition juice.

The second of the Whites at the Grand Cru Burgundy dinner. So opulent it could be new world. Very fresh and lively with Medium + acid to go with that lovely fruit. Ticks all the boxes. A very long life ahead. More intensity and more voluptuous than the Bienvenues although to be fair comparing different vintages. A tinge of pineapple juice at the finish.
