A distinctly Tuscan Cab that loads up big time on dark berries and dry herbs. It’s Italian, so I’m not looking for obvious fruit…but the tomato paste at the backend is very interesting. Not my style of Cab but grateful for the experience. (This seventeen year old wine is still with it but I wouldn’t push it…Drink Up!)

Beautiful cabernet, filled with the Italian terroir of Tuscany. This would never be taken for a California or French wine. Dry, complex, finely structured—tastes younger than its 18 years.

Great wine best in another 10 years.

Smells smoky and woody (but not big vanilla), a little acid up front with mellow fruit, switching back to pleasant, firm tannins across the palate. Totally what I want in a Cabernet.

Time to drink this one now. Velvet tannins. Fruit is going, but still discernible. Black fruits. Great cab, but with the unmistakable earthiness that tells you that you're drinking Italian wine.

Sept 2017. Opened this after a lighter, fruited red, made this taste harsh. Definitely decant! That would have helped. When I returned to it a day or 2 later I liked it a lot more. Full bodied Tuscan red. Cabernet Sauvignon. Lots of tannin and lots of body. Top Ten wine of the month, July 2017.
