Field Book Griffin's Lair Vineyard Syrah

2014. Young, meaty, and oh so full of itself. Not a lot of change since last note. (See below) If only more American producers could pull this off. The way it should be.

Fleshy, dark and lively

2014. Cool berries on the nose. Delicious and delightful cool climate syrah. Lush fruit but light on the palate. Super-fine tannins, smoky and roasty earthy notes, insistent acid, and a satisfying and lingering finish. Terrific balance and concentration. Will be even better in 3-5 years. 14.4% abv. 124 cases produced.

Fleshy and thick, dim acidity on the backend, but great texture and savory fattiness.

This wine I brought to a get together at a friend's home. It went over very well and enjoyed by all.

The nose gives black cherry, blackberry, white pepper and currant.

On the palate there were notes of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, allspice, clove, licorice and campfire smoke.

This is full bodied with a smooth texture, medium+ acidity and medium + tannins.

Best vintage yet. Pop and pour this beauty is smooth yet full of flavor

Brilliant color, very youthful, tasty

Very interesting well made Syrah

Warm earth and ripe passion fruit on the nose, with dark red fruits, blueberries and a bit of toasty oak.

Way softer than I imagine than the ‘19 to be drinking right now. Typical Griffey smokiness and gamey.
