On the nose, slightly stewed red fruit (cherry), candied strawberries, light balsamic, bay leaf. Acidic and tannic— my tongue feels like it’s getting slightly covered in a light dust (which is the current vibe this weekend being in the desert), but I’m not losing moisture. Slightly stewed strawberry, cherry, maybe if it was on low heat with some old spiced herbs tossed in. I would like to pet a Lagotto Romagnolo, an Italian water dog famous for smelling out truffles, while drinking this.

Ruby color with savory black cherry, tobacco, dried mushroom, and cedar aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, elegant, and well structured with with dusty tannins, and dried and backed black cherry, a hint of blueberry, vanilla and tobacco flavors with a lingering finish. Aerated for 90 minutes. This wine grew on me with each sip. 13 % alcohol Good value at $17

Chocolate, smoke, dates, prunes, orange peel, earth and tobacco on the nose. And what a glorious nose it is... The palate starts with rich stewed fruit and chocolate orange, with a lively fully integrated acidity, and finishes with chocolate and tannin, earth and vanilla pod lingering along with enough residual acidity to keep your palate interested. A perfect Chianti in my books.
