Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

1986 vintage. showing well 4/10/24. balanced. medium tannins, medium acid. really lovely. I always thought that this wine needed time.

Dill-licious from all the American oak slathered on top of what is otherwise a decent wine. Some sweet cherry and cocoa cowering underneath the wall of tannins, coconut and dill. Some of the older bottles though…

Always a solid Sonoma cab. Some anise and dark fruit, dark chocolate and anise. Slight bit of dill and vanilla. Drinks young, this could go for a bit longer. Good strong tannins but smooth enough to balance my prime rib.

A 2012 from Alexander Valley. Fully integrated tannins. Balanced and lush. Delicious!

Tasting Silver Oak at the winery in Alexander Valley. What a treat. The 19 is elegant and nicely balanced. Subtle tannins.

Delightful! Cedar box, crushed roses, light cherry. Paired magically with grilled lobster.

Cedar, vanilla, cassis, blackberry, toast, nice acid. Very soft tannins, nice time to drink.

Not much flavor left with this bottle. Still has tannins on the finish but disappointed the characteristics of Alexander valley are not showing with this cab.
