I wouldn't pay full price for it. 30% off? Sure!

Blueberries is what my 2 yr old said he smelled. And grapes! Ripe berries (yes blueberries included for me) dried herbs, light cigar box. Fun approachable wine.

Valiantly trying to hang in there, but should have drunk this wine long ago. Fruit mostly faded. PS Wine grew on me during the meal. Dark cherries & orange peel materialized. Raising my original rating.

Found this at home. Thought I should have shared it long ago.
Tasting it tonight I'm sorry everyone else is missing it. Lots of fruit still but have a feeling it will probably drop off soon.

1998. Fruit has held up very well. Deep dark cherry with a bit of plum & orange peel. Big wine. Almost an Amarone.

I like few Amarones, and therfore don't drink much from this region. However, I like corvina and I'm fan of La Poja. I wanted to try their budget version from the La Grola plot; 80% corvina and 20% syrah (Veronese IGT classification). Dark ruby color; dark dried fruits, cherries, complex nose with hints of old leather and vanilla; medium acid, medium alcohol, and a fairly long balanced finish. Very good!
