Still a delicious wine, but I found it less outstanding compared to previous vintages. 71% cab franc, 29% merlot. Silky and balanced. But lacking the grippy tannins of previous vintages.

Three consecutive vintages at 93 points. That’s impressive. The 17 blend comes with Cab Franc way in the foreground so very grippy tannins. But it opens up to delicious layers of cassis and black cherry. Delicious!

After the excellent ‘15 vintage this one comes in just as strong. Opulent but balanced, complex layers of red fruit and cassis. Silky tannins, jumping all right out of the bottle. Merlot increased to 50% in this cab franc blend.

This is a dark and deep wine that shares a palate of violets spring flowers.

Not only am I attached to the bell, but what a combination of merlot and cab franc. Even for a '13, smooth and lush with a great dark berry notes.

Super Bowl Sunday kick off with this treat. Nicely balanced blend - 65% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot. Smooth but still abundance of structure and lots of fruit. Delicious. Will definitely benefit from some aging. Rating affirmed 8/27/19 at Daou Vineyards.

Hands down one of my favorite wines. We had it before dinner with cheese and fruit. I didn't want the bottle to empty.
