Trying the ‘18 vintage. Just as dense and with grippy tannins as previous. Takes 90 minutes to decant and then starts shining. Beautiful layers of cassis. -46% Syrah, with the cab components rounding out the profile (37%). Edgy Petit Verdot (17%) provides a lot of structure. Not for the faint of heart. 😎

Having the 17 at Daou Mountain. Delicious! Grippy tannins from the Petit Verdot. Beautiful layers of fruit from the Syrah and cab with a long finish.

Very structured, but also plenty of fruit. Cassis, and red fruit.

Some fruit on the nose, fruit on the pallet, tobacco on the finish. Disappointing given the price. But a better than red.

Heavy heavy minerality. Very little fruit. Maybe too young. Maybe not to my taste

Deep purple ink. Perhaps too early to drink for 2012 vintage.
