Exceptional Ripasso. Tar, And black fruits dominate the nose, with a a splash of black currant and stewed red fruits. A touch of hay/grassy notes. Ripe red fruits on the mouth. Cranberry, red currant, and raspberry. Bold acidity balanced by full tannins and long lingering mineral and vanilla finish.

Ripe fruit, black liquorice, slightly acidic. Medium body but a bit flat. Not the best Valpolicella Ripasso that I have had but still OK. Would pair well with cheese.

Classic example of a Italian table red. Nice touch of fruitiness alongside notes of barnyard, horse blanket and dark red fruits. Certainly needs food, especially those high in protein like a sharp cheese or red meats.

Originally $16-17 at Superstore, on sale for $13-14. It's ok. Lots of flavour but kind of flat still? Tom says sweet but I didn't think so.

Nice body for pre dinner tipple. Especially with some Parma ham or lardo.

Not good to drink by itself - medium bodied, great pairing with light meat dishes
