Petrol. Apricot and peach. Grapefruit sourpatch kids. Special.

Blazing acid yet so so delicate. A progression of petrol, kiwi, melon and lime blossom scents unfold to citrus sorbet and gooseberry in the mouth, all on a razor’s edge of acidity. Very precise, beautiful kabinett.

A faint veil of yeast parts to reveal scents of fresh Bartlett pear and zesty lime that go on to inform an infectiously juicy, polished palate. Utmost delicacy from a mere 7.5 percent alcohol is allied with 55 grams of residual sugar that are supportive but not at all overbearing, and the sugar-acid tension in this bottling’s long, vibratory finish is both literally and metaphorically fruitful. Like the best Weiser-Künstler wines, dry or sweet, this displays a remarkable sense of transparency to myriad mineral nuances. These two (folks) will remain a consistent source of pleasure and amazement. A reminder of how wine, at its best, is about way more than wine. Impossible landscapes is the metaphor I'll carry through the next year. Do good work and don't stop doing it.

This wine has challenged my understanding of pairings each time I've had it. Beef cheeks? Ja wohl....elevated and ethereal. More please. There IS a Riesling for everything.

Tuesday night nacho wine, they played together nicely

2014. Extra points for style. Takes about an hour to come around. But when it does...boom! Mineral, toned, stone fruit, perfect texture. Funky nose when first opened. When "wild ferment" goes 100% according to plan

Intense minerality up front with young peach and exotic floral tones. Soft and pliant on the palate, with mouthwatering acidity coming forward in the finish.
