Rava Blackjack Vineyard Grüner Veltliner

Nectarines, wax paper, a little green pepper... what is this?! Nice acidity keeps all the madness in check. Great mouthfeel, honeyed and thick.

Mad Momo's. halfway between Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. Lime and mineral, moderately high acidity. Pretty simplistic, doesn't really make a strong case for Gruner in California.

Crisp, bright, green pepper nose with a hint of sweet nectarine and salt. Bright acidity leads the way on the juicy palate. Flavors of dry, zesty lemon and lime with a slight, passion fruit tropical note along with crunch apple and pear lead to very classic, Gruner notes of green pepper and dried herbs. The finish continues the bright, lingering acidity with a nice, tart, drying touch. Still holding up well for a 2011.

Nice, easy, fruity. Nothing too fancy.

Too sweet for me. Really grassy.

Much more interesting when first opened. Baked pie crust, lemon merengue pie. Peach jolly ranchers and lime after it opened up a bit.

Great warm weather wine!
