Pretty ruby in color with a light ruby rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, plums, cherries, chocolates, smoke, licorice, oak, vanilla, spices, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead, tar, dark coffee and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, earth, coke and peppercorn.

Medium plus in finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.

This Spanish monastrell is always enjoyable. Well balanced with mild complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Showing lots of fruits with nice earth notes.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (60 minutes).

I paired it with a Spanish beef dish (churrasco Moruno) with a baked sweet potato and cheese.

We had two bottles and it was a pleasure.

Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.

15.5% alcohol by volume.

88 points.

$15.

Very nice wine with aromas of dried tobacco leaves, cedar, vanilla, dried cherries, and chocolate. Rich mouthfeel with a good mid palate and smooth finish. Not super long after taste, but that is just fine.

Smooth and fruit forward with a bit of a dry, peppery finish.

For 10$ & change, I can’t imagine a more vibrant QPR. Dark brooding black fruits yet buoyed by freshness & enough acidity to keep that 15% at bay. I met this wine a few decades ago at Dan Barbers Blue Hill restaurant, which speaks to its quality. I don’t usually drink big wines, but this I do.

Good value. Mediterranean warmth of black fruit with a sweet hint, yet it remains fresh

Twelve months in French oak barrels was worth the wait. This Jumilla red wine is a bit on the sweet side, but very good for the price. Binny's-$12.99 Try it!
