Poured into a decanter several hours prior to service. No formal notes but this was a delicious pairing with traditional cassoulet. Dark bramble fruits, mushrooms, white pepper, earth. The structure is unrelenting and this La Migoua almost comes across young at the legal age of 18. It remains a deep, mysterious and intellectual wine. Drink now with a good amount of air, some great food and plenty of time to ponder. Well cellared examples will continue to drink well past 2030.

Brilliant light ruby red color. Still fresh with spicy red fruit, leather, herbs and dried plum on the nose. Complex and intense on the palate. Just a real treat to see one of these with proper age. Definitely not a young, opaque and tannic bandol but you could sense that all those things must have been true in this wines youth.

The vintage shows through. The ripeness pushes toward baked in the fruit character somewhat, but its pliant nature make it approachable now. Roasted cherry and baked plum, dusty leather, reduction (oxtail), cured game, white pepper, tar, fur. Love some young Migoua 😸

Nice bright red fruit. Firm tannin. Gained length after a little air. Showing a little bitterness that I’m not sure will soften with age.

Dark fruit, earth, garrigue. It’s best years are ahead.

Interesting. Don’t think I’ve ever had a Mourvèdre by it’s self. Would be interested in trying an older vintage.

Steal of a find! Explosive brambly fruit after about an hour. Still young but tannins are getting silky soft. Rustic, savory, sultry and sexy!

Great fruit. Quite bright and translucent but with a good gnarly undertow. Good balance
