Brief notes at home with Fettuccine in the Puttanesca style. Ended up being the perfect accompaniment. Menthol and savoury cherry with earthy aromas. Balsamic notes with a tarry nuance. Really enjoyable and tasting way younger than its 14 years. I would love to have the experience and knowledge to distinguish the different nuances between the Produttori Cuvées. Rabaja and Asili seem to be two of the preferred Cuvées among professionals.

Bright cherry red in colour. Notes of camphor which I see as somewhat of a Barbaresco trademark and also savoury red fruits on nose and palate. Medium plus palate weight with years ahead of it. Cruising at 16 years of age. A good hit of powdery dry tannins to finish off. Impressive.

Initial aromas like an old chest of drawers - then sooty, earthy notes with dry sour cherries with menthol. After a few hours an Animale note. These old Italians have virtually zero fruit showing - all savouriness. Good length finishing with Medium minus tannins. No more cellaring required. This was No. 3822 of 13,333 bottles produced. I am not across all of the different Cuvées from the Produttori but have had good experiences with Rabaja and Asili.

Really loved the generosity and open knit texture this had. Remarkable grace for its youth and plenty of immediacy on the mid-palate with its nice round morello cherry and red plum fruit. Layers of cool herbs, wildflowers, and warm spice add to the mix. The pliancy of the tannins really brought the whole package together. Lovely bottle

Popped and poured; drank with dinner of kabobs and fattoush so no formal notes. Ripe dark and red fruits, tar, dried herbs. Tannins are still firm but well within the range of drinkability. Drink now or over the next 10 years. Paired well with the meal.

One for the ages. In a beautiful spot right now if you like your nebbiolo a little rugged. Subtlety and complexity evident, with layers of dried raspberry, raisin before pencil lead, anise, mulling spices and essential tar and roses. Chemical quality. Tannins and bracing acidity still holding this gorgeous profile together.

Fleshy for Produttori. Raspberry, anise, pencil lead. (Tar & roses goes without saying.) lovely.

Black licorice, black tea and soy sauce on the nose. Similar flavors on the tongue with this salty characteristic. Interlaced on the finish were some tannins like mocha dust. Seemed like it was at peak or past peak. Drink now.
