Deep Ruby with aromas of black fruits and pronounced earthy spice. On the palate plum and blackberry flavors with pepper and herb spice, very acidic. Big firm biting tannins on medium(-) finish ending with brambles and earthy forest floor character. Drink now no aging benefit.

Sipping Fine Wine

Established in 1999 and a year later the first Mitolo wine was launched. Nice deep red with aromas of fruit, floral and herb notes. On the palate red berry and currant flavors with some oak, cacao and tobacco, typical of a Cab, but 25% of fruit is dried, similar to Amarone, providing some texture making this wine a good value. Fine tannins, a bit drying, medium+ finish on savory ending. Drink now, won’t benefit from bottle age. Tasting Sample.

It’s dark color is offset by its medium body. Tasty though with some plums and dark cherries, a touch of spice, a hint of vanilla. It’s suiting me quite well right now.

Blackberry, plum, blueberry, black current, cherry and dill all rapped up in vanilla. A medium-sweet wine, medium-plus bodied, fresh acidity with medium-high/round tannins. Flavorful and powerful with notes of tart red raspberry, cherry, silky sweet raisins, red licorice, smokey ash and baking spices. Very tasty wine!

What a score on closeout: this stuff was singing: big time red/black fruit, cassis, coffee, cocoa, all the sexy stuff - savory, herbaceous, just really a complete nose. Still fairly fruit forward on palate, plenty of weight & polish, integrated tannins, no rough edges, really opened after about 2 hrs and strutted. Can’t list all the flavors & notes - just impressive

Rich and dense, but the bell pepper note was so dominate that there was not much to show for the effort of 7-week drying 25% of the grapes.
Hope to try it again with some bottle age.
