Quite dark on color. A bit brooding in Aaron as well with subdued, inky, black fruits and not a lot of complexity at the moment. This should age well and needs more time in bottle, for me.

Bracing, dry and a bit furry textured. Good match to bolognese.

Very deeply colored for a Chianti. A little over extracted and tannic, but pleasantly dry.

Nice, but when I want to drink Chianti, I want to drink Chianti. Not quite "new world", but more fruit, less tannin and less acid than I would want. Also lacking that unmistakable dusty/herbal Sangiovese character. Still a solid wine, maybe my expectations are too high.

The last of my 6 bottles. I usually don't let regular Classico get this old but man this is nice. Freshly dug gravelly soil, dark cherries, rose petals. Great linearity of flavors. Whacks the mouth with macerated cherries and then turns dark minerally fast. Clings like crazy. Still some tannin. Can't believe I got this for about $9 a bottle at a Zachys close out.
