Stage 12 of #tourdefrance 2017 leaving Pau. A simple Gascogne white goes well with Tarbais bean soup. Light, grassy, and refreshing but basic.

I love this ... Perfect tart and crispness for a summer day ... And the price @<$10 is a no-brainier!

This intriguing white from the south of France, Vin de Pays des Cote de Gascony is made up of 45% Ungi Blanc , 35% Colombard, 10% Sauvignon, 10% Gros Menseng. Not your typical white. Very nice nose of lemon, floral notes, tropical guava. Pineapple and hints of peach. On the palate I am getting a sharp acidity, good citrus, lemon, and blue stone with a minerality . There is a medium body with a good crisp freshness.

This is a classic Côtes de Gascogne Blanc. The nose is exuberant green apple and lime zest with peach notes following. On the palate you are greeted with more of the same fruit coupled with racy mouthwatering acidity. The finish goes peach coupled with pink grapefruit. Utterly delicious.

Light crisp, lemon, pear and peaches. A little stink on it, great for a cheese plate on a spring day.
