Has really mellowed in the last few years. Glad I didn't wait longer to drink this one.

Classic Alexander Valley character. 30% new oak and it shows but not in a bad way at all. The fruit is there. There is a softness here that makes it more accessible than one might think. It’s a big boy with plenty of concentration but not particularly tannic. Nice aromatic intensity with blackberry and cherry, vanilla and baking spice, potpourri, jasmine, milk chocolate, cassis and buttered toast.

Nice wine. Paired with a filet and baked potato. Very smooth with soft tannins.

Amazing black fruit with balanced acidity and integrated tannins, going great with the ribeye off the BGE.
