Rose, violets, some tart black cherry juice, wild red bramble fruit, cherry pit/marzipan and herbs. Beautiful, smooth, tart, and elegant, delicate tannins. Great structure, and this is drinking so smoothly now though took 3 days to open and could definitely use 3-5 years more cellar time.

The evenings winner, perfect barolo nose, medium everything but where all components act synergistically to create palate art, with mile long finish.

Softer and more feminine with a modern flare. Would have guessed Barbaresco.

Terrific wine to cap off team drinks. Rose, tar, lavender, gorgeous structure, backbone, intense yet surprisingly light. If you were to do a word-cloud of what an excellent 2010 Barolo should be like, the large lettered words would be the tasting note here. It is an exemplar of quality for its type.

Terroir and map hunting as wine tasting sport! This is a beautiful Barolo and so well made and contained for such a warm year. Elegance and terroir prevail! As usual, producer trumps vintage status quo! #vajra
