What a real surprise for a 9 year old PN from a sparkling wine producer! A pale garnet to ruby that belies the strong flavor profile – much like good Cote d’or burgundy. Evocative nose with a classic Carneros profile – NSG earthiness meets California sun! A deep core of black and red cherry red cherry along with hints of briggher red fruits. On the palate becomes reder – strawberry and red raspberry, framed by damp earth. Floral aromatics start at the back palate and continue to a long finish. I hoped for “drinkable” and ended up at something that borders into contemplative. At the bargain basement auction qpr a great one
