Drinking well at 10 years. Spicy nose of blue fruit, tobacco, and leather. Slightly feral. Mostly Carignane with equal parts Syrah and Grenache with a dash of Cabernet. 14.5% abv.
Despite the 60% new French oak this wine absolutely highlights the stony/mineral character of Licorella soil.

High-toned and elegantly stated. Plenty of coarse mineral characters indicative of the slate, flowers, smoke and herbs beneath. Worked wonderfully with pork shoulder braised w/ harissa, orange, thyme and beans.

Deep Ruby (more red compared to it's older brother reviewed tonight). Barnyard funk on the nose. Soil and greenery. Obvious wood still present. Alcohol feels hotter, medium plus acidity, medium plus bodied. Firm tannins. This too will get better over time, but probably not much given the absence of fruit (as opposed to still present red berries in the Especial Vinyes Velles). Very Good.

Have not had a Priorat of this caliber. Beautifully balanced. Carignan driven with Grenache, Syrah, and splash of Cab. Flavorful without being too concentrated or powerful. Elegant and lifted without being overly restrained. Minerality makes it mark. A great pairing for pork roast and broccoli rabe.

Another great, wonderful Priorat. Grapes are Cariñena, Garnacha, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, matured in French barriques for 12 months. Tight, aromatic herbal like thyme and rosemary, even balsamic.

Carignan dominant, not yet softened, but good to very good nonetheless.
