Bodega Chacra
Cincuenta y Cinco Pinot Noir
Takes a day to really get going but when it does, wow- this has astonishingly pure red fruit, red berry and plum, lots of licorice, menthol, some cranberry and herbs. Great, cool, pristine energy. This is an ethereal wine, and a tremendous value, and I can see this hitting 9.6 or higher down the line.

Dec 29th, 2022Very brisk, red-fruited, a bit wild with bitter berry along with the sweet ripe berry fruit. Cough syrup and mineral dust. A bit medicinal numbing, licorice. Dusty tannic herbal. Way less giving than the 2018, most definitely needs time in bottle.

Nov 28th, 2022Sour, ripe and juicy red and purple fruit. Tamarind. Raspberry bubblegum. Good concentration, salty and lots of class.
Totally singing on day three. Stunner.

Dead ringer for Willamette Pinot... if not even more reductive and old world. So much has been said about this producer. I get it. Young at 2018 but I get it. This is built for short and mid term drinking. Pop this bottle and make friends.

Feb 12th, 2021Wow. Pinot from Argentina! And it was fantastic. If I tasted this blind, I probably would have called Oregon or burgundy. Super funky upon opening with a bit of iron and stewed red and black fruit. After time in the glass, distinctly stemmy/herbaceous notes showed the use of whole cluster. Rose petal and black cherry finish. Very good structure. Such a cool wine provided by @Arden Barnett .

Dec 14th, 2018Strawberry jam, licorice, rose water, and smoke. A whiff of green bell pepper and VA, though in a good way. Some vegetal undertone. Moderate plus acid, medium body.
