Had higher hopes for this one, but found it in an awkward, closed phase and in need of time. Fine grained and detailed, with wisps of oak and berry fruit underneath but overall shut down and not showing much, even after a double decant. There’s a pretty wine here, but at this point it’s a hold.

Wow what a pretty wine! As per of GL posts, this is pure elegance, lightness of being, and ethereal dancing with silk on palate. Pretty is the watchword from nose to finish. Nose has hints of earth, mushroom funk and perhaps it was weightier when young? Just delicious on its own regardless of food pairing. Yum yum.
