#AgedWineTuesday

Another delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from a Single Vineyard in Napa Valley.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity.

Showing black fruits with tobacco, chocolates, coffee, vanilla, cedar, licorice, spices and peppercorn.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with a long finish and round tannins.

Showing great complexity and mouthfeel. Rich, yet elegant and fruit forward.

Good right out of the bottle and probably better with airtime, but I didn't have that luxury, as the bottle finished right away.

Thank you Barry for sharing this with me.

I had this vintage 5 years ago (from a 750ml), and loved it too. This Magnum will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

Good by itself, and does not need any food, but will pair very nicely with a big piece of steak.

A blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1%Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Grapes are grown at 1,200 feet of elevation, and were aged in oak barrels for 26 months. A small production of only 250 cases.

14.7% alcohol by volume.

95 points.

$800 (Magnum).

Blackberry infused dark chocolate. On the precipice of too sweet.

It’s hard to believe this is a 2011. So balanced, nuanced, yet powerful.

Unbelievably delicious...smooth, deep, rich flavors of wood, earth and tobacco complemented by black fruit. Very velvety. And perfect with steak. Very special.

The 2009 Kings Row is an interesting wine with rich tobacco, cherry and licorice aromas. This has a lusciously smooth taste of the red fruit, pencil shavings with a slight hint of spices that lingers on your palate makes this a nice guilty pleasure. It is costly and a nice treat but there are others out there that have a better value to quality ratio for those that don't want to drop big bucks. But if you can swing it please treat yourself. #kingsrow #calistoga #checkerboard

Quite good, but no where near great (and no where near worth what I paid for it at this point). Have two more of this vintage and will see how they develop. Better half was underwhelmed as well - "Here, you can finish mine..." Ouch.
