100% Sangiovese. Medium ruby color. Enticing aromas of plums, purple flowers, leather and earth. Ripe red and black berries on the pallet with hints of tobacco, wild herbs and exotic spices. Fresh acidity. Smooth tannins. Tangy and bright. Good wine.

Vino Nobile Pietro Rossa 2016. Translucency. On the nose, red berry, mineral and bell pepper, balsamic and herbaceous nose. On the palate strawberry dominates. Oak as well.

Quite dark & brooding, with black mulberry & blueberry with just a dash of the Sangiovese cherry + a large pinch of herbs and some leathery / gamey and black olive notes. Mid weight on the palate, savoury and with juicy (if not bright) acidity and pronounced (yet finely grained if a bit dry), mouth coating tannins. Good length, nice purity of fruit, unpolluted with heavy oak and authentic character.
This is not your typical, bright, tomato sauce pasta Sangiovese, rather a darker, wild boar stew Nobile.

#amis was in the mood for a Chianti and this was recommended. Nice earthy with spice.
