Well knit, liking the structure here, there’s some sinew but all im balance and agreeable. This could blossom more in bottle, almost regretted pulling the cork. Night 2 gave more Volnay charm with its perfume and cool and vivid fruit.

Opened this 2014 Volnay two hours in advance. It was spectacular - deep fruit flavors and smooth like velvet. Occasion was the first day of our 36th year of marriage! (Wonder what we will drink tomorrow.)

Even after being open for about 24 hours, super tight. Give this one a decade at least before revisiting.

Really loved what it was doing on the first night; very playful and pleasure forward with a fine mineral finish. Second night and last 1/3 of the bottles it put on a lot of weight and is brooding. Actually went well with what was happening and I was surprised.
