Barolo Nebbiolo

This was beautiful. Decant to see true development but it’s ready to pop and pour. Balanced and smooth.

After a hour of warming up this was zen like - gorgeous wine

Gorgeous florals of peony and rose. Bright cherry fruit, dark red berries, cassis, almandine, nuanced tannins. Excellent, but very tight still. This is one I’m going to be happy to have in the cellar in 10 years.

This was really good after many years in bottle. I really enjoyed this wine and the 2010s when they were released. I like the pure, feminine style of the Fratelli Allesandria. Almost Burgundian, kind of like a Chambolle Musigny. I believe the estate is situated at a higher elevation than most producers or it’s further north. I can’t remember. A Barolo that is easy to drink without any harsh flavor and not overly tannic. Impressive entry level wine that shows better than the majority of the crus I tasted. 9/5/20

One of my favourite makers in Barolo

Medium ruby color with aromas of ripe red fruits and elegant hints of floral. The palate brings fruit forward with cherry, raspberry and hints of fig tastes. Tannins are fine and round, a tad young with high acidity noted. The finish is medium, smooth and ends with earthy mineral notes. Very nice. Needs time.

Very unique nose with lots of savory elements like mushrooms, braised meat and carmelized onions! Fine tannins, drinking nicely!

Popped and poured; consumed over two days. Day 1: this was reticent. Yet, the quality was obvious with silky tannins and a pureness about it that encouraged me to pause and, in a rare case for me with Barolo, I placed the cork back in the bottle and figured I would check back with it the next evening. Day 2: this had opened to reveal fresh black berries, dark cherries, orange peel, roses and spices on the nose. On the palate, it was dark cherries over berries and minerals with a salinity to the finish that was rather awesome, actually. Towards the end of the bottle, it seems the structure was beginning to build again and I can only assume the Barolo roller-coaster ride would have continued. Too bad I ran out. I'll certainly be seeking more of this. Drink now...with some patience or hold our for more.

Showing beautifully right out of the gate, even though it’s so young. Classic Barolo characteristics, tart cherry, violets, tart raspberries and a touch of earthy tones.
I can only imagine what would happen in 10 years time.
